The members of the Mont Vernon Fire Department come from the community that we serve. As a call fire department, when there is an emergency, we notified by radio pagers of where it is and what the emergency is. Our members volunteer for many types of trainings and assisting with community programs. As a citizen of Mont Vernon, we welcome your interest in joining our organization.
The Fire Department is governed by an elected Board of Fire Wards. One of the Board members serves as Chief of the Department [elected by the membership]. The Board of Fire Wards are responsible for insuring the safety of the firefighters, preparing budgets, proposing warrant articles, and overseeing Department operations during emergencies as members of the Fire Department.
